Gl-eek!

What has happened to my dear, sweet Gleeks? I don't consider myself a super conservative person, but the Esquire photo shoot that featured Lea Michele (Rachel), Dianna Argon (Quinn), and Cory Monteith (Finn) really disgusts me. I realize that these people are not really teenagers but, frankly, I don't care. Does it really matter how old they are? Is it tasteful to pose like this at any age? I say no. Lea Michele is incredibly talented. Why does she feel the need to degrade herself by posing this way? Not to mention, these are actors on what is supposedly a family show, though the last episode with the 'lady kisses' and de-flowering of Artie has me questioning that too! The actors have to be aware of their audience and I just think it is in really, really bad taste to participate in a photo shoot that resembles a raunchy Playboy spread. Ok, that is all - I am stepping down off my soapbox. What do you all think?

Now....all that being said, I am really looking forward to the Halloween episode - Rocky Horror Picture Show!!! Check out a sneak peak here.

Five Things I'm Loving Right Now

1. Emily Ley Paper
Because of my current profession, I have become somewhat of an expert on all things paper. This is a company that was introduced to me recently and I adore her stuff! Her social stationary is adorable - very simple and classic - and her wedding invitations are gorgeous! Check her out here. Below is my personal favorite!

2. My Lilly Pulitzer umbrella
There have been some seriously rainy days in DC lately but I always get compliments on this super cute umbrella!

...and my Lilly Pulitzer thermal mug.
I have been making tea for myself on these cool, Fall mornings and this mug never fails to cheer me up while I am in the midst of my morning grumpiness.

3. Figs
I am mildly obsessed with figs and they are only in season during the Fall. I have a couple recipes I use with figs, including a really simple one - figs stuffed with goat cheese and drizzled with honey - yum! My favorite way to eat figs is on pizza! A local DC area restaurant called Clyde's has a seasonal pizza called the Figgy Piggy pizza. The pizza is covered with a fig spread, prosciutto and blue cheese. I am obsessed with it and will be attempting to make one for a jewelry party I am having next weekend - more on that later...

4. Mumford and Sons
I am obsessed with this British group! There most popular song is 'Little Lion Man' (listen below) but some of my other favs are: 'The Cave', 'White Blank Page', and 'Roll Away Your Stone'. Hoping I can see them in concert very soon!

5. My Target Drape Front Sweater
I love Target all year round but I especially love it when I am looking to do some Fall shopping on a budget. I wear this sweater all the time - love it with a colorful tank or an embellished t-shirt. And for $20 - you can't beat that!

Opinions Please!

How are we feeling about this? Too pink? Is there really such a thing as too pink...? Let's just say that it is on MAJOR sale and DC Prep thinks she needs a new dress! Thoughts? Comments? Have any of you seen it or does anyone own it? Help a prep out!

What's happening?!

No, J. Crew - I will not purchase sequin harem pants from you for $650.

Nor will I buy this odd and ugly pin for $88....

You know what's even more disturbing about all this? The harem pants are SOLD OUT online. Who is buying these things? And for $650?! Aren't we in a recession? Would I spend $650 on a Burberry trench? Yes. Two pairs of Tod's driving moccasins? Of course. A David Yurman bracelet? You betcha! But a pair of sequin harem pants? No sir! What has happened to J. Crew? I want my preppy super store back!!!

And finally....
No, Pottery Barn, I will not buy this cardinal duvet cover. Not even for the holidays.
