Question

So.....how do you clean a white leather bag? I have found that some of my dark colored tops are rubbing off on my new bag! I think my navy J. Crew cardigan is the culprit. This simply will not do! Is there a home remedy for my poor bag, or should I get it professionally cleaned? How can I prevent this from happening in the future? Help!

Please let me know when you find out! I have a cream leather bag that is now blue because of my indigo dyed denim!

I would not try to clean it at home. bring the possible culprit & the bag to your most trusted Dry Cleaner. They will tell you if they can clean your bag. If they can't they will redirect you to someone who can best clean leather. Good luck. I'm sorry your bag is damaged. :(

I have no idea. I have a beautiful Cole Hann white leather bag that got ruined by rubbing on a new pair of jeans :(

I know that sometimes the bag companies offer a cleaning service where you can send your bag back to the company to have it cleaned. I usually just go to this leather/shoe maker store near my house and he amazingly cleans up all my leather goods. Good luck!

Definitely bring it in to a shop. Maybe they will even have some at home tips.

You have to share the solution you find! I have had the same issue with a few things!

I would take this to a store that works with handbags and shoes. They should be able to treat it in such a way that it will protect the bag from something similar ever happening again!

Oh gosh, that is frustrating. I also had that problem, but I didn't clean the bag. The mark was small enough still and not very noticeable, so I just have to remember not to carry the bag over my shoulder when I'm wearing certain outfits. I would say ask any shop or dry cleaner about how to start. Good luck!
